A brilliant qualifying performance - fastest of the Rondo Building Services BMW 335i's three drivers - in Daniel's Mount Panorama debut and his first event in a production touring car came to nought in the race after another driver crashed the car heavily in the early laps.

Daniel was sensational in his first drive of a 'slicks and wings' openwheeler, getting within two tenths of a second of the lap record after just one and a half day's testing on the unfamiliar Texas racetrack!

A gutsy recovery following an uncharacteristically troubled qualifying session brought Daniel eighth place - and first Australian - in the final of Formula Ford's annual international blue riband event.

Mission accomplished: Daniel retained his composure after an unjust 'drive through' penalty in the first race to collect enough points from both races to secure fifth overall - and highest-placed driver with no previous experience on local racetracks - in the prestigious British Formula Ford Championship.

A well-earned podium in round 23 compensated for a rare non-finish in round 22 at the former British Formula One Grand Prix circuit.
